12 December 2014 - The Philippines and the United Kingdom reinforced the positive direction of their bilateral relations when they convened their 5th High Level Meeting (HLM) in London December 05.
The Philippine delegation was led by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Evan P. Garcia while the British delegation was led by Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) Director General for Economic and Consular Julian King. Also in attendance were Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom Enrique Manalo, British Ambassador to the Philippines Asif Ahmad, and FCO Asia Pacific Director Stephen Lillie.
The HLM is the institutional mechanism that oversees the progress of the bilateral ties, which has further accelerated this year due to the increased exchanges of high level visits between the two countries brought about by the upsurge of economic growth in the Philippines and enhanced people-to-people links.
