Bangkok ASEAN traditional music and dance1

06 August 2013 - Prof. Dr. Verne de la Pena, Prof. Dr. Lilymae Franco-Montano, Ms. Angela Lawenko Baguilat and Mr. Michael Barry A. Que, music and dance teachers from the University of the Philippines, participated in the 2nd Forum on ASEAN Traditional Music and Dance for Music Teachers held at Bangkok Thailand Cultural Center from July 31 to August 02. 

The Forum was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Thailand and Thailand Music Educators Association (TMEA). 

The participants included music and dance teachers from schools in Bangkok and other provinces, as well as music and dance instructors from Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam.  The forum aimed to help music and dance teachers study and collect data on ASEAN music and dance to help them become more effective in teach their students. 

The three-day forum and workshop consisted of lecture, demonstration, workshops and performances.
