16 December 2014 - Philippine Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Nestor Z. Ochoa and Madame Mayie Ochoa attended as guests of honor at the Christmas party of Lufthansa-Brunei, held on December 06 at the Rizqun International Hotel, Gadong, Bandar Seri Begawan.

Lufthansa-Brunei holds this occasion annually as get-together for Lufthansa’s employees (pilots and engineers) and their respective Filipino household service workers (HSWs).

In his remarks, Ambassador Ochoa underscored the accomplishments of the Philippine Embassy for the year 2014, as well as the opportunities that the Embassy seized in fulfilling its mandate to provide genuine service to the Filipino community in Brunei Darussalam. He also reminded the attendees to register as overseas voters for the May 2016 national elections.

The Ambassador also thanked Lufthansa-Brunei Team Leader Capt. Rolf Wiedemann, and other employers of the Filipino HSWs for the warm and fair treatment they accord to their Filipino workers.

During the event, Ambassador Ochoa and Madame Mayie Ochoa were accompanied by Mr. Rodolfo A. Gaspar, the Embassy’s Administrative Officer; Ms. Violeta Illescas, Labor Attaché; Ms. Aurea J. Estrada, Welfare Officer; Ms. Celia V. Cabadonga, Labor Officer; and Ms. Arlina Feliciano, Pag-IBIG Representative. 

The highlights of the event included song and dance numbers from the Filipino HSWs, and raffle draws. END
