19 December 2014 - The President of Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce (IACC), Mr. Ran Cohen, and the new Philippine Ambassador to Israel Neal Imperial, met on November 20 to renew ties between the Embassy and Chamber and discuss increasing Philippine-Israel trade and business relations. Joining Mr. Cohen, a former Minister of Trade of Israel, during the meeting was the President of Israel-Philippine Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Ron Doron.
Highlighting the Philippine's consistently robust and fast developing economy whose 7.2% GDP growth in 2013 was the highest in Southeast Asia, Ambassador Imperial invited Mr. Cohen and the members of the Chamber to venture into the various industrial and BPO sectors of the Philippines and benefit from the country's favorable and improving business climate. He added that the confidence level of investors in the Philippines remained strong as indicated in the sharp increase of foreign investments last year, not to mention the country's investment grade rating from the world's leading credit rating agencies: Standard & Poor's, Moody’s Investor Service, and Fitch Ratings.
Ambassador Imperial also invited the Chamber to send a business delegation to the Philippines early next year, to better position Israeli investors in the ASEAN integrated market.
The IACC seeks to encourage, support, and facilitate trade and business relations between Israel and Asia. It also provides Israeli industries that are keen to expand in Asia with information on the latest economic developments and trends in the region. END
