19 December 2014 – Bb. Pilipinas Miss Intercontinental Kris Tiffany M. Janson placed Second Runner Up at this year’s 43rd Miss Intercontinental Pageant held on December 04 at the Maritim Hotel in Magdeburg, a historical German city and capital of the State of Saxony-Anhalt.

Ms. Janson, a 24-year old financial analyst from Cebu City, bested 67 other candidates by winning the Ms. Photogenic title, and topping the Ms. Intercontinental Asia and Oceana regional contest, tied with Ms. Thailand. She shares the winner's circle with 22-year old model Jeslie Mergal from Cuba, who placed First Runner Up, and 19-year old student Patraporn Wang from Thailand, who was crowned Ms. Intercontinental 2014.

This year's candidates were judged by an international jury led by outgoing Miss Intercontinental 2013 Ekaterina Plekhova. A noteworthy performance by a former member of the legendary group 'The Platters', Mr. Keith Tynes, enthralled an enthusiastic audience of 1000.

The candidates visited important sites in Berlin and Magdeburg as they shuffled between official engagements, trainings and rehearsals during their 14-day stay in Germany.

Kris, as she is called by friends, has plans of taking up graduate studies once her contract with Binibining Pilipinas is over. She is considering a future career in business, law or diplomacy. She had to give up her job as a budding financial analyst in a big Cebu firm in order to join this beauty pageant.

The time she spent in Germany for this pageant was too short for her.  “I have seen a little bit of Germany.  I will return next year to see and learn more about this wonderful country,” she said.

Ms. Janson is the third Filipina to have won in the Miss Intercontinental Pageant – Maria Sovietskaya Laviano Bacud and Andrea Koreen Garcia won Second and Third Runner Up in 1995 and 2013, respectively. END
