22 December 2014 – The Philippine Embassy in Athens concluded its last consular mobile services in Nicosia, Cyprus from December 12 to 14 for the year 2014.
The Embassy sent a five-member Embassy team to Nicosia, Cyprus to meet the Filipino community and render consular mobile services. The Embassy team was able to process 377 passport application forms, 11 civil registrations, 15 Affidavits and 342 Pag-IBIG transactions.
In view of the Embassy’s intensified efforts to encourage more Filipinos for overseas voters registration, the Embassy also conducted a mobile overseas voter registration for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Cyprus. During the three day consular mobile services, a total of 282 OFWs were enrolled.
A Pag-IBIG representative likewise provided pertinent information regarding its programs available for them. The overseas Filipinos concerned expressed their gratitude for the Embassy's efforts in touching base with them.
The mission was completed in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate General, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Nicosia and the Filipino Community volunteers. END
