29 December 2014 - Philippine Ambassador to Australia Belen F. Anota administered the oath of office to Mr. Mark McBriarty who officially assumed his role as Philippine Honorary Consul General in Adelaide, South Australia on November 20. 

Mr. McBriarty replaces Dr. Reynaldo Dante G. Juanta, who served as Honorary Consul General since 2010 and retired from the service in July 2014. 

Mr. McBriarty is the current Managing Director and Owner of Home Instead Senior Care Adelaide East, a locally-owned franchise which helps senior citizens in living happy, healthy and independent lives in their own homes.  Prior to managing his own franchise, he worked for the Telstra Corporation as Integration and Development Manager and later as Human Resources Director.  He also has many years of experience in the hospitality industry having worked for Hospitality Workplace Solutions, Hilton International Adelaide, Hilton International Sydney and Hotel Nikko Sydney. 

He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the Riverina College of Advanced Education and earned his Graduate Diploma in Management Major in Strategic/International Human Resource Management from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management. 

His interests cover current affairs, travel, food and wine.  He is also a sports enthusiast, particularly of table tennis.  END
