29 December 2014 – Ninety-one (91) Filipino workers availed of free medical services provided by volunteers of Centre of Development and Resource for Students of the University of Hong Kong on December 14 at the Philippine Consulate General. They underwent body mass index, blood pressure, and glucose examinations in addition to being given advice by health professionals. This activity was accompanied by a talk-show lecture conducted by Filipino doctor Michael Manio on hypertension and varicose veins and graduate student John Akrofi Kubi on nutrition.
This is the first of six lectures to be organized by the Philippine Consulate General and the University of Hong Kong.
The next scheduled lecture and health services on breast cancer will be held at the University of Hong Kong on 15 March 2015.
Participants who complete five of the six lectures will be awarded a certificate of attendance by the University of Hong Kong. END
