08 August 2013 – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, Hawaii held a simple flag-raising ceremony on August 07 to commemorate the 46th Anniversary of the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
It was attended by the Consulate General’s officers and staff as well as a number of clients.
Consul General Julius D. Torres gave an inspirational talk for the personnel of the Consulate on the significance of the Philippines’ membership in ASEAN and the projects and programs undertaken by ASEAN members to achieve an ASEAN Community in 2015.
To raise awareness on the ASEAN, a video entitled “The ASEAN Community 2015” will be shown every morning at the Consulate’s consular area during ASEAN Week (August 7 to 13).
