5 January 2015 – On 13 November 2014, Philippine Ambassador to Thailand Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia and other Embassy officials called on Vice Governor Somchai Kamonteptewin of the Province of Uttaradit in Northwestern Thailand.

Ambassador Batoon-Garcia and the Governor talked about how to grow economic relations between the Province of Uttaradit and the Philippines, especially through tourism and trade. They also discussed how to increase the Filipino community’s contributions to Uttaradit, and promote better relations between the local government units the Filipino community.

The Ambassador also took the opportunity to introduce the incoming Philippine Honorary Consul, Mr. Agkarajit Phanomvan Na Ayudhya, to the Governor, local officials, and the Filipino community.  END
