07 January 2015 – The Filipino community in Yangon celebrated Christmas in a fun-filled event entitled “A Dazzling Christmas, Isang Paskong Kumukutitap” on December 06, 2014 at Kandawgyi Palace Hotel.

Philippine Ambassador to Myanmar Alex G. Chua and Madam Marla Chua graced the celebration. The event was attended by approximately 250 members of the Filipino community.  Ambassador Chua reminded them that they are partners of the Philippine government in promoting Philippine interests and in building good relations between the Philippines and Myanmar.

President Danny Dauba was overwhelmed with joy as he thanked the Embassy and the Filipino community in taking part in this joyous occasion.  Everyone joined hearts and minds in a prayer to spare the Philippines from Typhoon Hagupit with its strong gale winds that threatened to wreak havoc in the country on that day.

Numerous prizes such as  gift packs, home appliances and cellular phones, among others, were given away in a raffle draw supported by Cherry Mobile, CharmZ Charity, Ooredoo, Fonterra, Elephant Plastic Factory, Asia Brewery, Nestle, Earth Trading, Global Sky, Oishi Snacks – Liwayway and United Pharma, to name a few.  There were also games and musical performances that rendered glitter and flair to the evening event.
