08 January 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh continued its strong performance in 2014 in delivering services to overseas Filipinos to enable them to vote during the Presidential Elections in 2016. The Embassy facilitated a total of 32,988 overseas voting (OV)-related services and conducted 14 outreach missions all over Saudi Arabia in 2014.
The Embassy remains committed in delivering services to overseas Filipinos throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enable them to vote during the 2016 national elections. Since overseas voters registration began on 06 May 2014, the Embassy facilitated 32,988 OV-related services for 2014. For the same period, a total of 31,898 new OV registrations/certifications were facilitated. It also conducted 14 OV outreach missions in Al Khobar, Jubail, Hofuf, Hail and 2nd Industrial City in Riyadh to bring overseas voters services closer to all Filipinos in Saudi Arabia.
Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ezzedin H. Tago invited even more Filipinos in the Kingdom to register. “I invite all qualified Filipinos who are not registered as overseas voters to register as overseas voter and exercise your right to suffrage during the elections in 2016. There are only eleven months to go before the end of registration period,” he said.
Registering as an overseas voter will enable Filipinos abroad to vote for the positions of President, Vice President, 12 members of Senate and one Party-list sectoral representative during the 2016 national elections. Overseas voters registration began on 06 May 2014 and will end on 31 October 2015.
Overseas voters registration services are being provided at the Embassy lobby from Sunday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It will also be provided during Embassy-on-Wheels (EOW) outreach missions scheduled for 2015. END
