12 January 2015 – The cartographic exhibit entitled, “Ancient Maps of the Philippines,” was launched on December 14, 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The exhibit featured maps of the Philippines and Asia made by foreign and Filipino authorities and individuals from Europe and Asia, dating as far back as the 12th century AD.
Over 15 maps were sourced from Philippine Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio T. Carpio and the Institute for Maritime and Ocean Affairs (IMOA). Philippine Ambassador to Thailand Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia officially opened the exhibit with the members of the Filipino community and the Thai media. END
