12 January 2015 - The Gender and Development (GAD) Co-focal persons of the Philippine Consulate General in Manado Estrella C. Cruz and Maria Cecilia P. Wenceslao paid a courtesy call on the new Head of Women’s Empowerment and Children Protection Department (BP3A) of North Sulawesi, IR. Erny Tumundo, M.Si, in her office on January 07 in Manado City.

During the meeting, the Regional Head outlined the various challenges Indonesia has in common with the Philippines with regards to women’s rights and welfare. The Consulate General’s GAD Focal Persons likewise took the opportunity to discuss potential cooperation on women’s issues between the BP3A and the Consulate General, as well as possible GAD projects for the benefit of Filipinos, especially women in North Sulawesi FY 2015.
