12 January 2015 - The Canadian Club of Toronto started the New Year with its 38th Annual “Outlook 2015” on Canada’s political, economic and social developments on January 06. The forecast luncheon by an expert panel of five discussants shared their views on the economy, the market and political issues that will affect Canada and Canadians in the year ahead.
The panel was led by the country’s media mogul Conrad Black with Consul Shirley E. Banquicio who attended on behalf of the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto who in a brief sideline greeting after the forum acknowledged and praised the Philippines’ strong economic performance and remarked, “the Philippines is doing very well, very good in its economy”. Though he mentioned only the strong economic growth of the three most populous countries in the world China, India and Indonesia, during his five-minute talk, Mr. Black said that he will cite the Philippines’ strong economic performance and growth in the near future in similar forums.
