13 January 2015 – The Filipino Community of Guam (FCG) held its Christmas Get Together and Appreciation Party as well as the soft induction of its new officers for 2015-2016 at the Hilton Resort Hotel on 14 December 2014. Philippine Consul General Marciano R. de Borja was invited to administer the oath of office of the new FCG officers.
Consul General de Borja expressed appreciation to the current set of FCG officers, led by Mr. Roy S. Adonay, for all its accomplishments and support extended to the Consulate General and the community of Guam. He also congratulated and wished the new FCG officers for 2015-2016 success in all their future plans and activities and that the Consulate looks forward to working closely with them for the benefit of the Filipino community in Guam.
As a highlight of the event, the program also included the presentation of awards and plaques of appreciation by FCG President Adonay to the distinguished officers and supporters of FCG.
The event was attended by the FCG officers and members led by its current President, Mr. Roy S. Adonay, and Mr. Emelio Uy, Chairman of the FCG Board of Trustees.
Also in attendance were Senator Rory Respicio and his wife, Joleen, Senators-elect Jim Espaldon and Dr. Nerissa Underwood and her husband, University of Guam President Dr. Robert Underwood, Mayor Antonio C. Halili and Vice-Mayor Jhoana C. Coronoa of Tanauan City, Batangas who were in Guam to establish the sister city agreement between Tanauan and Asan-Maina, Guam, as well as some officers and staff of the Philippine Consulate. END
