22 January 2015 – A large delegation of students and faculty members from Miriam College visited the Philippine Embassy in Seoul on January 16 as part of a Cross-Cultural Tour of the Korean capital.
Philippine Ambassador to South Korea Raul S. Hernandez welcomed to the Embassy’s Multipurpose Hall the 58 students and four instructors of Miriam College’ Department of Leisure and Tourism Management undertaking an educational tour of Seoul from January 15 to 18.
Ambassador Hernandez gave a brief lecture about the Philippines’ diplomatic mission in South Korea, including its organizational structure, functions and responsibilities in implementing the country’s foreign policy thrusts and the overview of Philippines-South Korea bilateral relations. He also spoke to the students about Korean etiquette, behavioral norms and cultural traditions in contrast with those of the Philippines. END
