22 January 2015 – Top executives of Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) US Mobility, led by its Acting General Manager Ricardo Isla, paid a courtesy call on Philippine Consul General to Honolulu Gina A. Jamoralin on January 15 at the Philippine Consulate General. Joining Mr. Isla were PLDT US Head of Sales Jose Alberto Tamayo and Sales Manager Mel Esporas.
PLDT US Mobility is a subsidiary of PLDT US Ltd which is engaged in the business of providing consumer mobile products in the United States. PLDT is one of the Philippines’ leading telecommunications and multimedia services provider.
Mr. Isla informed the Consul General of his company’s new offering, the SMART World Mobile, which enables subscribers in the US to get both a US mobile number and a Philippine mobile number in one sim card, allowing their loved ones in the Philippines to call and text them at Philippine local rates, making connections between Filipino Americans and their families and friends in the Philippines easier and more convenient. He also said that PLDT US has partnered with global telecommunications provider T-Mobile to bring a uniquely Filipino mobile service in the US which is home to about 4 million Filipinos.
In response, Consul General Jamoralin expressed her appreciation for their visit and PLDT US’ new program which would surely benefit the Filipino American population in the US, especially in Hawaii, where almost 350,000 Filipino Americans reside.
Consul General Jamoralin and Mr. Isla also discussed possible partnerships between the Consulate General and PLDT US Mobility which could be undertaken in the future. END
