22 January 2015 - Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo officially received chairmanship of the ASEAN Dhaka Committee (ADC) at the handover ceremony held during the ADC Heads of Missions meeting on January 15. The Philippine Embassy will be presiding over the activities and programs of the Committee for the period January to June 2015.
The Philippine chairmanship of the ADC was preceded by Myanmar Embassy that finished its six-month term in December 2014. At the meeting, Myanmar Ambassador Myo Myint Than expressed his appreciation for the cooperation of all the ASEAN-member missions in the country during his stint as the chair of the Committee.
The ADC, which was established on 02 April 2014, is composed of the eight ASEAN-member missions in Dhaka, namely Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. END
