22 January 2015 - Philippine Ambassador Catalino R. Dilem, Jr. presented his letter of credence as non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and the letter of recall of his predecessor to Guatemalan President Otto Fernando Perez Molina on January 05 at the Presidential Garden of the Presidential Palace (Casa Presidencial). The ambassadors of Algeria, Austria, Finland, Pakistan, Poland, Serbia, Argentina and Dominican Republic also presented their Letters of Credence on the same day. Ambassador Dilem was accompanied by Philippine Embassy Cultural Officer, Mrs. Rosabelle Toledo.
The Ambassador was ushered in to the presidential podium by the Directorate General for Protocol and Diplomatic Ceremonies Dennis Ortiz and Sub Directorate General for Protocol Veronica Araujo accompanied by Mrs. Toledo. The Minister for Foreign Affairs Carlos Raul Morales Moscoso met the Ambassador and presented him to the President.
The President welcomed Ambassador Dilem as he presented his letter of credence and the letter of recall of his predecessor. The Ambassador conveyed the greetings of President Benigno S. Aquino and expressed confidence for continued and mutually beneficial relations between the Philippines and Guatemala.
President Perez expressed similar sentiments and hoped for the Ambassador´s successful stint in Guatemala. END
