27 January 2015 – Philippine Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Cecilia B. Rebong, attended the opening ceremony of the second season of the Filipino-Swiss Sports Club (FSSC) of Geneva Basketball Tournament held on January 17 at the Center Sportif de la Queue Arve, Les Acacias, Geneva.

Ambassador Rebong lauded the organizers of the All Filipino Basketball Tournament, under the chairmanship of Mr. Jun Balles and all the officers of the FCSC, and assured them of the Philippine Mission and Consulate General’s support to their tournament which fosters camaraderie, friendship and unity among the Filipinos in Geneva. “Sports cultivates and enhances leadership skills and sense of responsibility and fair play and promotes a healthy lifestyle, which are good to develop in every Filipino,” she added.

Fourteen (14) Teams will compete under two categories: Senior’s (over 20-under 40) and the Veteran’s (40 and above), for a period of six months: January to June 2015. Games will be played on Wednesdays and Fridays. END
