28 January 2015 - The Christmas trees of the Philippines, Germany and Luxembourg were declared as the top three winners with the highest number of votes in the “Christmas Tree Charity 2014” event organized by the Central Department Store Limited at the Central Embassy Mall from 25 November to 15 December 2014. 

The Embassy Christmas tree, decorated by Cultural Officer Sylvia M. Reyes with the help of Ms. Catherine Agito and Ms. Maryanne Oclarit, placed third and received 209 votes from in-store customers and 259 votes from online voters, garnering a total of 468 votes.  The Christmas tree of the German Embassy won first place with 161 votes from in-store and 1,189 online votes, with a total of 1,350 votes. The second place went to the Christmas tree of the Embassy of Luxembourg with 104 votes from in-store customers and 1,227 from online voters for a total of 1,331 votes.  The winners will be given the privilege to choose the charitable institution that will receive the prize money of THB 100, 000.00.

The Siam Commercial Bank, sponsor for the third place Christmas tree, will give the prize money to the Thai Red Cross Society, the Philippine Embassy’s chosen charitable institution. The donation will be used to support the projects and researches of the Thai Red Cross Society, under the Royal patronage with HM Queen Sirikit as the President of the Council and HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn as the Executive Vice-President of the Executive Committee.
