29 January 2015 - The Philippine Consulate General in Agana was invited recently to the induction ceremony of the Circulo Boholano in Guam held at the Hilton Resort Hotel on January 24.
Consul Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian attended the event as representative of the Philippine Consulate General and administered the oath of the new set of officers and board of directors for 2015.
Consul Auxilian congratulated the new officers, board of directors and members of the Circulo Boholano and commended them for their efforts in uniting the Boholanos on the island and keeping the bayanihan spirit alive by initiating projects that will redound to the benefits of the Filipinos in Guam and in the Philippines.
He also encouraged them to support the 10th Ambassadors, Consuls-General and Tourism Directors Tours (ACGTDT) that will be held in July 2015 and urged those who are qualified to apply for dual citizenship and register as overseas voters so they can vote in the May 2016 Philippine national elections.
Circulo Boholano is an association of Boholanos in Guam which was established in February 1987. It has a total membership of 60 families originating from Bohol province and is headed by Mrs. Concepcion Zapatos as President. As one of its projects, the association donated money last year to the Archdiocese of Tagbilaran for the benefit of the victims of the October 2013 earthquake in Bohol. END
