02 February 2015 – The Department of Tourism of the Philippines in Hong Kong SAR opened 2015 with a reunion dinner for stakeholders of Hong Kong’s travel and tourism industry on January 27. 

Simultaneous with the reunion dinner was the launching of Cebu Pacific’s thrice-a-week direct flights from Hong Kong to Kalibo, Aklan which will start in March 2015. This is one of the initiatives being implemented this year to highlight the Visit the Philippines 2015 tourism campaign. The two-hour direct flight will provide more convenience and save travel time for travelers who wish to make the most of their trip to the pristine white sand beaches of Boracay.

Philippine Consul General Bernardita L. Catalla welcomed the 300 Hong Kong travel agents who expressed delight and excitement over the newly-launched direct route.

In a related development,more than 100 Hong Kong travel agents are scheduled to go on a familiarization tour to Cebu and Boracay in February via Hong Kong Express.

The dinner-cum-product launch party was hosted by Mr. David Leung, Marketing Representative of the Department of Tourism for Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR. END
