06 February 2015 - The diplomatic corps in Brunei Darussalam, led by its Dean, Philippine Ambassor Nestor Z. Ochoa, hosted a farewell lunch on January 29 at the Radisson Hotel, Bandar Seri Begawan for outgoing Thai Ambassador Apichart Phetcharatana, and Myanmar Ambassador Daw Yin Yin Myint.
In his welcoming remarks Ambassador Ochoa expressed his farewell wishes on behalf of the diplomatic community and highlighted the warm ties established amongst themselves during their tenure in Brunei Darussalam.
Both Ambassadors Phetcharatana and Myint gave brief remarks and extended their appreciation to His Majesty, the royal family, the Brunei Government and the diplomatic corps who have extended full cooperation and support during their tenure in the Sultanate. Ambassador Ochoa presented both outgoing envoys with farewell gifts on behalf of the diplomatic corps.
Ambassador Ochoa also welcomed the new members of the diplomatic corps: Saudi Ambassador Hisham bin Abdul Wahab bin Abdullah Zaraa, Iran Ambassador Abdolhamid Fekri, Chinese Ambassador Yang Jian, and Candian High Commissioner Marina B. Laker. END
