10 February 2015 - The Philippines’ pride and Tony and Laurence Olivier awardee, Ms. Lea Salonga, held a series of concerts in Hong Kong from January 30 to February 01 with the Hong Kong Philharmonic. Her brother, Gerard Salonga, was the concerts’ guest conductor.
The January 30 to 31 performances titled “Lea Salonga - The Voice From Broadway” were held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC) Concert Hall where Ms. Salonga sang her hit songs “On My Own” and “I’d Give My Life For You” from the Broadway plays “Les Misérables” and “Miss Saigon,” respectively.
Similar to the HKCC concerts, Ms. Salonga performed in two more full house concerts at the Tsuen Wan Town Hall Auditorium on February 01. Dubbed “Lea Salonga – Pride of the Philippines,” the Tsuen Wan concerts featured her rendition of Filipino classics “Nais Ko” and “Kastilyong Buhangin” to the delight of the mostly-Filipino audience who sang along with her.
