13 February 2015 – Officers of a Seoul-based Filipino multicultural organization called on Philippine Ambassador to South Korea Raul S. Hernandez at the Embassy Chancery on February 02 to explain their programs aimed at building a strong relationship among Filipino marriage migrants and their children.

Ambassador Hernandez urged the Seoul Filipino Parents and Children Organization (SFPCO), headed by its president, Venus Avelino Lee, to be united and become partners of the Embassy in reaching out with our fellow countrymen, serve as a support group to those in need of assistance, and actively promote Filipino culture through various joint activities.

Since its founding, the SFPCO has collaborated once with the Embassy in implementing “Wika Nga!  Filipino Language Classes for Filipino-Korean Children,” a 10-week program of Filipino language classes and family development sessions for Filipino women and their multicultural children held at the Seoul Global Center until late August 2014.
