13 February 2015 – Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) launched its Learning Adventure – Consuls General Series on February 09 at the RTHK Broadcasting Studio. Hong Kong’s Chief Secretary for Administration Carrie Lam was the event’s officiating guest.

Philippine Consul General Bernardita L. Catalla, along with around 30 other consuls general in Hong Kong, attended the launch ceremony. 

As part of the launch, the consuls general presented significant occasions in their respective countries. Consul General Catalla introduced the Philippines as a country of feasts and festivals, highlighting the Masskara Festival of Bacolod City in Negros Occidental in Central Philippines. 

Consul General Catalla also announced during the launch that the Philippines is bringing a Masskara Festival contingent to Hong Kong to perform at the annual Chinese New Year Night Parade on February 19.

The Philippines will participate for the first time in the parade’s 20-year history. 

To further boost tourism arrivals in the country, Consul General Catalla invited the audience to come and explore the Philippines for “Visit the Philippines 2015”. 

The Learning Adventure – Consuls General Series aims to promote cultural diversity in the Hong Kong broadcasting scene.
