Yangon ASEAN

15 August 2013  -The Philippine Embassy in Yangon started the commemoration of the 46th Anniversary of the ASEAN Day in the morning of August 07 with the flag raising of the ASEAN Flag after the Philippine Flag while singing the “Lupang Hinirang” and “The ASEAN Way.” The commemoration was held at the Philippine Embassy grounds. 

Philippine Ambassador to Myanmar Alex G. Chua led the flag raising ceremony with the officers and staff of the Embassy. 

Yangon ASEAN2To revive awareness on ASEAN, a short briefing was conducted by Mr. Daniel T. Te, Protocol Officer and Political and Economic Attaché of the Embassy, after the flag raising ceremony.  The briefing was attended by the officers and staff of the Embassy. 

The next day, 8 August 2013, Ambassador Chua together with Madam Marie Marla Chua and Vice Consul Bryan Jess T. Baguio attended the ceremony in commemoration of the 46th Anniversary of ASEAN Day upon the invitation of the ASEAN Day Celebration Committee of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The ceremony was held at the Myanmar International Convention Center (MICC) in Nay Pyi Taw. 

The Embassy took part in the celebration by providing Philippine cultural items that were exhibited at MICC during the event together with the cultural materials from the other ASEAN member countries. END
