15 August 2013 - As part of the Philippine Government’s efforts to assist its nationals seeking repatriation during the correction period in the Kingdom, the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh announced that 135 distressed Filipinos in Riyadh would be repatriated from August 12 to 15 under the ongoing correction period on plane tickets provided by the Philippine government.
With this number, the total of Filipinos repatriated from Riyadh alone through government expense will reach over 1,100 distressed Filipinos.
The Embassy is also arranging the flight booking of another 203 Filipinos who already obtained their final exit, and requested the assistance of the Philippine government for repatriation tickets. Recently, 97 mothers with undocumented children also obtained their exit visas after the DNA testing by the Ministry of Interior team and fingerprinting at the General Directorate for Passports (Jawazat – Wafeedin at Shumeisy).
In the meantime, the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah has repatriated 881 Filipinos on tickets purchased by the Philippine government.
With the end of the Eid El-Fitr holidays, the Embassy and Consulate will continue providing assistance to Filipinos in facilitating the rectification of their status or expediting issuance of final exit visas to meet the deadline of the correction period on 3 November 2013. END
