20 February 2015 – Philippine Non-Resident Ambassador to Slovenia Lourdes O. Yparraguirre swore in Mr. Srečko Debelak as the new Philippine Honorary Consul in the Republic of Slovenia in ceremonies held at the Philippine Embassy in Vienna, Austria on February 13.

In her brief remarks, Ambassador Yparraguirre welcomed Consul Debelak’s assumption, stating that it helps strengthen the relations between the Philippines and Slovenia, especially in the areas of trade, investment, and people-to-people contacts.

Consul Debelak is a Slovene businessman who serves as Senior Director of A.T. Kearney Svetovanje d.o.o., the Slovene arm of the A.T. Kearney global management and consulting firm. He once served as a Commercial Assistant at the United States Embassy in the former Yugoslavia, where he earned his experience in trade promotion and economic marketing.

Consul Debelak thanked the Embassy for giving him the opportunity to serve in his new capacity. He also committed to contributing to the further strengthening of the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Slovenia.

The oath-taking was witnessed by the officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy. Honorary Consul Debelak was also briefed on his functions, especially those relating to economic diplomacy and assistance-to-nationals. END
