23 February 2015 – Philippine Ambassador Cecilia B. Rebong and Philippine Consul General Enrico Fos, together with Labor Attaché Celeste Valderrama and the other officers of the Philippine Permanent Mission to the United Nations and other International Organizations /Philippine Consulate General in Geneva conducted a meeting with the Filipino community leaders in Geneva and Vaud to discuss the activities being planned for Filipinos in the Cantons of Geneva and Vaud for 2015.
The meeting was intended to gather support from the Filipino community for the various community and cultural events. The activities are aimed at promoting the welfare of the Filipinos in Geneva and Vaud.
Activities for 2015 include mobile consular outreach to areas under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General, open houses on some Sundays throughout the year, Women’s Wellness Series, Financial Literacy Seminars, Entrepreneurial Workshops, intensification of overseas voters registration, and a Paskong Pinoy.
In her remarks, Ambassador Rebong reiterated the Mission/Consulate General’s commitment to bring the services of the Philippine Government closer to the Filipino community in Geneva and Vaud.
The community leaders conveyed their appreciation for the closer working relationship between the Mission/Consulate General and the Filipino community. The latter expressed their assurances of support and cooperation. END
