geneva workshop

23 February 2015 - The Philippine Mission/Consulate General in Geneva and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) conducted their First Entrepreneurial Workshop for Overseas Filipinos in 2015 on February 08.

The Workshop is part of the program of the Philippine Mission/Consulate General to enhance the financial management skills of Filipino migrants in Geneva and Vaud. The 12-hour course covers basic principles of savings and investments, marketing and advertising, financial reporting, and entrepreneurship.

In her opening remarks, Ambassador Cecilia Rebong, Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Geneva, encouraged the 42 enrolled participants to continue and strengthen their efforts to better manage their finances. The Workshop is a follow-up to the more general discussion on savings and the social cost of migration, which the Mission/Consulate General and POLO regularly conduct with various Filipino groups and organizations as part of their service to the Filipino community.

The first Entrepreneurial Workshop for Overseas Filipinos was held from November 09 to November 30, 2014. The 64 participants who completed the Workshop were recognized on December 08, 2014. END
