25 February 2015 – The Diplomatic Corps in Brunei Darussalam hosted a farewell lunch on 29 January 29 at the Radisson Hotel, Bandar Seri Begawan for two outgoing Ambassadors – Thai Ambassador Apichart Phetcharatana, and Myanmar Ambassador Daw Yin Yin Myint.
In his welcoming remarks as Dean of the diplomatic corps, Philippine Ambassador Nestor Z. Ochoa expressed his farewell wishes on behalf of the diplomatic community and highlighted the warm ties established amongst the envoys during their tenure in Brunei Darussalam.
Both Ambassadors Phetcharatana and Myint gave brief remarks and extended their appreciation to His Majesty, the royal family, the Brunei Government and the diplomatic corps which have extended full cooperation and support during their tenure in the Sultanate. Ambassador Ochoa presented both outgoing envoys with farewell gifts on behalf of the diplomatic corps.
Ambassador Ochoa also welcomed the new members of the diplomatic corps: Saudi Ambassador Hisham bin Abdul Wahab bin Abdullah Zaraa; Iranian Abdolhamid Fekri, Ambassador; Chinese Ambassador Yang Jian, Ambassador; and Canadian High Commissioner Marina B .Laker. END
