24 February 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in Madrid received the award for Mr. Ernadel V. Reyes of Zamboanga del Sur National High School, winner of first prize for the Teachers and School Category of the drawing contest themed, “The Family: Rights and Future, Tradition and Modernity,” the Peace and Cooperation School Award 2014.

The awarding ceremony was held at the auditorium of Colegio Caude de Majadahonda in Madrid.  The winners of the first prize from various countries were awarded to embassy representatives based in Madrid, while the official awarding ceremony took place in Algeria on February 07, the host country for this year.

Among the diplomatic missions represented during the ceremony, also to receive the first prize winners from their country were the Ambassadors of Guatemala, Serbia, Algeria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.  The other guests included the Egyptian Ambassador, Majadahonda Mayor students and teachers of Colegio Caude, and student winners and their mentors from other provinces in Spain.

The Philippines became the host of the awarding ceremony of the “Peace and Cooperation School Award 2014 – Art as Universal Language,” which was held at and in coordination with the Department of Education on 28 February 2014.  END
