LA27 February 2015 – The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles commemorated the 29th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution and remembered the fallen 44 PNP-SAF agents with a special Mass celebrated by Reverend Manuel Gacad at the Precious Blood Church in Los Angeles on  February 24. 

The Mass was organized in coordination with the Filipino Ministry of Los Angeles and was attended by members of the Filipino-American community.  Rev. Gacad stressed the importance of discerning the true message of the EDSA Revolution and the sacrifice of the fallen 44 in Mamasapano.  He said that it is not enough for Filipinos to remember the events of EDSA, and that it is more important that we commit to the ideals that EDSA represent by living them in our daily lives.

In his remarks, Philippine Consul General to Los Angeles Leo M. Herrera-Lim recalled the Filipinos’ commitment to the EDSA Revolution and the dedication of the 44 fallen heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice while performing their sworn duty to protect the Filipino people. In closing, the Consul General exhorted the audience to continue to push forward the lessons of EDSA and contribute to their realization. END
