05 March 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka commemorated the 29th Anniversary of the EDSa People Power Revolution on February 25. Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo led the flag-raising ceremony attended by the families of Embassy personnel and members of the Filipino community in Dhaka at the Embassy grounds.
Lt. Col. Eugenio Julio C. Osias IV and Lt. Cmdr. Edward Lamug jointly the hoisted the Philippine flag during the ceremony. The two representatives of the Philippine Armed Forces just graduated from their defense military course at the Defense Services Command and Staff College in Dhaka.
With this year’s theme, “Ituloy ang Pagbabago”, Ambassador Bandillo hailed in his remarks the unwavering contribution of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in sustaining the progress of the Philippines. He further said that OFWs’ sacrifices in leaving their homes and families for jobs abroad have assured their country’s continuous renewal for growth and development.
An extended celebration was held in the morning of February 27 when the Philippine Embassy organized a physical fitness activity at the DOHS Baridhara park. A number of Filipino and Bangladeshi nationals residing in the DOHS Baridhara compound enjoyed dancing zumba led by Philippine Embassy personnel. END
