12 March 2015 - Yunnan International Expositions Bureau officials, led by Deputy Director-General Hao Yishan, paid a courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador to China Erlinda F. Basilio on February 25.
The Yunnan Expo delegation updated the Philippine Ambassador on preparations for the 3rd China-South Asia Expo (CSAExpo) and 23rd China Kunming Import and Export Commodities Fair (Kunming Fair) to be held from June 12 to 16.
During the call, Deputy Director-General Hao informed the Ambassador that their delegation is in Beijing to visit selected embassies to extend the Yunnan Provincial Government’s invitation to the promotion event of the fairs in Beijing. The delegation also informed the Ambassador that the CSAExpo and Kunming Fair will cover various industries including agriculture, tourism, education, services, and logistics.
Held annually in Kunming, Yunnan Province, the CSAExpo and Kunming Fair constitute an international exposition and regional international commodities fair jointly sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of the Provinces of Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Chongqing Municipality, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Tibet Autonomous Region, and Chengdu City.
The two events serve as important international platforms for business negotiations, commodity exhibitions, investment cooperation, and service trade and e-commerce for Chinese and foreign enterprises from South Asia, Southeast Asia and other countries.
Ambassador Basilio gave her assurances that the Embassy would support the trade fairs by encouraging Philippine enterprises to participate in the CSAExpo and Kunming Fair, as these events would be opportunities to showcase Philippines products and services in the southwest region of China. END
