19 March 2015 - With seven months to go until the end of the registration period, the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver reported that it had already reached its target of 8,000 new overseas voting registrants for the 2016 national elections. This was due to the huge turnout of Filipino nationals registering for overseas voting at the consular outreach held in High River, Alberta last March 11 to 13.
Philippine Consul General Neil Ferrer credits the entire Consulate General team for their hard work in processing the registration of Filipino overseas voters in Canada. Since last year, the Consulate has been conducting mobile registrations during consular outreach missions, as well as field visits on ships docked at the Port of Vancouver.
Consul General Ferrer assured that the Consulate General will continue to intensify its overseas voting registration campaign until the end of the registration period on October 31 this year. END
