19 March 2015 - The Nepal-Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industries (NPCCI) was formally launched at the Philippine Honorary Consulate General Office in Kathmandu on March 03.
The launching ceremony was attended by Philippine Honorary Consul General Suraj Vaidya and Philippine Embassy in New Delhi Commercial Counselor John Paul B. Iñigo, who congratulated the officers and members of the NPCCI for their resolve to strengthen bilateral business ties between the Philippines and Nepal.
A brainchild of Honorary Consul General Suraj Vaidya, the organization aims to promote bilateral cooperation through investment, trade and technology transfer between Nepal and the Philippines.
The current officers of NPCCI are Mrs. Roseline Budhathoki, President; Blessie G. Dhakal, Senior Vice President; Salvacion P. Shakya, Junior Vice President; Luzviminda P. Thapa, Secretary; Floramae Paudel, Treasurer; and Marivic A. Gurung and Emma L. Pariyar, Executive Members.
The launch of NPCCI was highlighted by the visit of Commercial Counselor Iñigo to Kathmandu, who was there to deliver his presentation on "Doing Business with the Philippines” to various Nepalese businessmen. They, in turn, expressed interest in visiting the Philippines both to buy from and participate in the various trade fairs, including Manila FAME, IFEX Philippines, and PhilConstruct, among others. END
