23 March 2015 – The Philippine Embassy participated in the three-day 2015 National Multicultural Festival in Canberra from February 13 to 15 to promote the Philippines. All foreign Embassies and High Commissions were allotted a one-day display stall on February 14.
The Festival was considered a great venue and opportunity for promoting the Philippines as tens of thousands of people flocked each day to sample the diverse cultures and food from around the world. The three-day Festival gathered around 270,000 people.
The Philippine display comprised textiles, jewelries, accessories, handicrafts, sample dried mangoes and candy mangorinds, together with Philippine posters, tourism brochures and other information materials. Many expressed their interest in the jewelries and accessories on display, and others expressed appreciation of the beauty and richness of Philippine culture and conveyed future plans to visit the Philippines .
The display stalls were open to the public from 11:00 a.m. until midnight. END
