24 March 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) led the oath-taking of the Special Professional Licensure Board Examination (SPLBE) passers in Abu Dhabi during separate ceremonies organized by Filipino professional groups from December 2014 to February 2015.
First to take their oath were the newly-passed 76 Filipino nurses in ceremonies held at the Hilton Capital Grand Hotel Abu Dhabi on December 2, 2014 organized by the Filipino Nurses Association in the Emirates (FNAE). This was followed by the oath-taking of Civil Engineers and Electrical Engineers on December 5, 2014 at the Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi and Le Meridien Hotel Abu Dhabi, respectively. The oath-taking coincided with the Christmas parties of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE)-Abu Dhabi Chapter and the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE)-Abu Dhabi Chapter.
New Filipino architects took their oath on December 12, 2014 at Hotel Intercontinental Abu Dhabi which was organized by the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) – Abu Dhabi Chapter. A total of 124 Filipino architects from across the Emirates passed the SPLBE conducted in October 2014. Oath-taking ceremonies continued with new Filipino accountants on January 23, 2015 held in Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan Abu Dhabi organized by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) – Abu Dhabi.
The oath-taking ceremony for three new Mechanical Engineers was held at the Ambassador’s Residence on February 17 arranged by the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME)- Abu Dhabi Chapter. New Electronics Engineers and Master Technicians took their oath on February 20 on the sidelines of the Annual General Membership meeting of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP)- UAE held at the Grand Continental Flamingo Hotel. Lastly, the passers of the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) was held on February 21 at Hotel Intercontinental Abu Dhabi organized by The Filipino Teachers in the Society.
In all these events, Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Grace Relucio Princesa highlighted the continuing economic growth and development of the Philippines and encouraged the professionals take part in the economic trajectory of the country by investing or establishing businesses in the Philippines for successful reintegration.
Ambassador Princesa also lauded the professionals for fostering a good image of Filipinos in their respective workplaces. She also reminded the board passers about the value of continuing education and upskilling in the context of the ASEAN Community 2015 and Dubai Expo 2020. She also emphasized the five I’s that get Filipinos in jail, namely Indebtedness, Immorality, Intoxication and drugs, Illegal recruitment and Improper documents, and warned them not to engage in these activities and encourage them to be good role models to fellow compatriots. Finally, she thanked the Filipino professional organizations which are under the umbrella of the Filipino Professional Group (FPG) – UAE and Bayanihan Council for the support to the board passers and to the projects and programs of the Embassy.
