26 March 2015 – Members of the Filipino community, together with their Chinese friends enjoyed an afternoon of Filipino film and traditional merienda cena at the Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai on March 15. In partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines, the Consulate General held a screening of the Philippine movie “My Amnesia Girl”. 

Also in attendance were reporters from the International Channel Shanghai (ICS) and Philippine Venice Biennale Coordinating Committee Head Aurea Lopez, who was in Shanghai for the press conference tour of the 56th Venice Biennale.

In her brief remarks and introduction of the movie before the start of the show, Consul Indhira C. Bañares highlighted the values of family and community among Filipinos as these form the bases of their support and strength.

The movie, with Chinese subtitle, captured the audience’s interest with its thrilling and hilarious love story. It also elicited discussions amongst them on the issues of honesty in relationship, a woman’s dignity, love and second chances.

Filipino snacks were served after the film showing. END
