6 April 2015 - Philippine Ambassador to France and Permanent Delegate Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro, as Chairperson of the Group of 77 and China in Paris, attended the 46th Meeting of the Chairs of the Chapters of G77 and China on March 26 to 27 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Ambassador Lazaro and the G77 Chapter heads of Geneva, Nairobi, New York and Vienna discussed with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon the important role of the G77 and China, especially in light of the post-2015 Development Agenda. The discussion ensured a stronger partnership, as well as a stronger representation of the interests of the Group in the UN.

Chapter heads also exchanged information on their plans and activities for 2015. Ambassador Lazaro shared Paris Chapter’s activities in UNESCO, and emphasized the relevance of UNESCO’s mandates in education, science and technology, and culture in support of the post-2015 Development Agenda.  END
