07 April 2015 – Philippine Ambassador Jose D.R. Burgos presented his Letters of Credence as resident Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Secretary General for External Relations Sergio França Danese on March 24 at the Itamaraty Palace of the Ministry of External Relations, Brasilia, Brazil.
During the ceremony, the Secretary General expressed satisfaction with the state of relations between the Philippines and Brazil and noted with gladness that Ambassador Burgos attended the inauguration of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff on January 01 as Special Envoy of President Benigno S. Aquino III.
Both Ambassador Burgos and Secretary General Danese noted that that there are a number of promising areas for enhanced engagement between their countries.
The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Francisco Mauro Brasil de Holanda, Director General for East Asia; Mr. Marcus Henrique Paranagua, General Coordinator for Protocol; Ms. Maria Cristina Martins, Head of Philippine Desk; Third Secretary and Vice Consul Eric P. Valenzuela of the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia; and other officials of the Ministry of External Relations. END
