16 April 2015 – Efforts to evacuate Filipinos in Yemen and repatriate them to the Philippines continue. On April 15, a group of 21, which includes 1 foreigner, traveled from Sana’a and are expected to cross the Yemeni-Saudi border today, Saudi time. With this latest group, the total number of Filipinos evacuated from Yemen is at 537.

On April 07, Pakistan Navy evacuated five Filipinos from Yemen. One Filipino went to Dubai, while four were repatriated to Manila on April 08. Their plane tickets were paid by their employer. On April 15, 60 evacuees left Riyadh via FlyNas and Cebu Pacific, and they are expected to arrive in Manila today at 3:45 p.m., bringing the total Filipinos repatriated to 405.

The next batches of repatriates are set to leave Riyadh via Cebu Pacific and PAL flights on April 17 and 18.

The Philippine Government continues to urge all those in Yemen to contact the Philippine Embassy’s Crisis Management Team in Sana’a to arrange for their expedient evacuation from Yemen. END
