22 April 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi awarded plaques of recognition to top Filipino community (FilCom) groups under the Bayanihan Council of 2014 in a simple ceremony held at the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on April 17.
Six groups, namely, Philippine Guardians Brotherhood Inc. (PGBI); Seven7 Squad; Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. (PICE) UAE Chapter; Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) Abu Dhabi Chapter; Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE) UAE Chapter; Filipino Association for Computer Excellence (FACE); and CARCANMADCARLAN (acronym for the towns of Carrascal, Cantilan, Madrid, Carmen and Lanuza in Surigao del Sur) UAE Chapter were chosen as top Filipino community organizations in Abu Dhabi upon evaluation of their attendance and participation in the events and programs of the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Bayanihan Council.
In her remarks, Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Grace Relucio Princesa welcomed the 44 newly accredited organizations with the Philippine Embassy and expressed hope that the bayanihan spirit among Filipino community leaders in Abu Dhabi will continue in 2015 and beyond. She also expressed her appreciation to all the FilCom organizations that continuously support the programs of the Embassy and the Philippine government.
The Bayanihan Council is the umbrella organization representing 56 FilCom organizations accredited with the Philippine Embassy. END
