23 April 2015 - Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom (UK) Enrique A. Manalo won the DIPLOMAT Magazine’s Diplomat of the Year from Asia 2015 at a ceremony held at The Langham London Hotel on April 20.

Ambassador Manalo was recognized for his initiatives in improving the bilateral relations between the Philippines and the UK, as well as his outstanding contributions to the multilateral diplomacy in London. He was cited for, among others, raising the profile of the Philippines and Asia as leader of the ASEAN London Committee (ALC) and chairman of the General Assembly of the International Mobile Satellite Organization (IMSO) in London.

The Ambassador received the award in the presence of over 250 diplomats, including Ambassadors and High Commissioners from 80 countries. The 2015 Diplomat of the Year Award winners include ambassadors and diplomats from Belgium, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Honduras, Philippines, Russia, St. Kitts and Nevis, Ukraine, and United Arab Emirates. British diplomat Charles Crawford CMG was the Master of Ceremonies. 

The annual Diplomat of the Year Award is a high-profile prize for diplomats, with the award-winners voted for by diplomats from over 180 counties. It is organized by UK’s DIPLOMAT magazine in recognition of the work and achievements of the most influential diplomats in the UK. END
