24 April 2015 - Ambassador Lourdes O. Yparraguirre, the new Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the United Nations (UN) in New York, presented her letter of credentials to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at the UN Headquarters today.

Ambassador Yparraguirre also paid a courtesy call on UN Chief of Protocol Peter Van Laere.

Prior to her posting in New York, Ambassador Yparraguirre served as Philippine Ambassador to Austria with concurrent jurisdiction over Croatia, Slovenia and Slovak Republic. She was also Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Vienna, UN Industrial Development Organization, UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty Organization, and International Anti-Corruption Academy. She also served as Resident Representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency.

She was assigned to the Philippine Mission to the UN in Geneva and to the Philippine Embassy in Washington DC from 1989 to 2006.

Ambassador Yparraguirre was also warmly welcomed by the officers and staff of the Philippine Mission immediately after the presentation of her credentials. END
