27 April 2015 – The Crisis Management Team (CMT) from the Philippine Embassy in New Delhi has reached Kathmandu, Nepal this morning.

The CMT is currently assessing the situation on the ground and coordinating with the Filipino community in Nepal for their needs.

The Embassy encourages Filipinos in Nepal to contact the Embassy in New Delhi to give updates of their status and current location via the following means:

As of 12:00 noon today, around 40 Filipinos in Nepal have contacted the Embassy to confirm that they are safe. Filipinos in Nepal are encouraged to keep tabs on one another.

Kababayans in the Philippines who have not heard from their relatives in Nepal are invited to leave the name, address and contact details of the missing individuals on the Facebook Information Page of the Embassy. The Embassy will do its utmost to contact them.

Families in the Philippines may also contact the Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs (OUMWA) through 0917-5693073 or (02) 871-4503 to inquire about their relatives in Nepal or to provide information as to their relatives’ status and whereabouts.
